A Cow Once Defended by an Army

In the Mahabharata, the sage Vasishtha's wish-granting cow Nandini was so fiercely protected that an entire army could not take her from him. It's a striking contrast to what GauNandiSewa found on 18th April 2023 in Phase 3, New Delhi — a Mahadev Nandi with no one defending him at all, simply lying on the road, unable to move, left to whatever came next.

Reaching Him on the Road

GauNandiSewa's animal rescue ambulance reached Phase 3 and brought him in immediately. An animal found down and unable to rise on a public road is at risk from every direction — traffic, heat, dehydration — and needs to be moved to safety and evaluated without delay.

Standing Again

Under care at GauNandiSewa's hospital, he recovered and was able to stand and walk once more. He may not have had an army defending him on that road in Phase 3, but he had a team that came anyway.
