Gaumata Baby, Spine Damage, Hit & Run, July 2020

In July 2020, GauNandiSewa rescued a Gaumata baby from Noida with serious spine injuries from a hit-and-run accident, unable to stand or sit properly.

A Weight No Back Should Have to Bear Alone

When the gods and demons churned the ocean in search of Amrita, it was Vishnu himself, in his form as Kurma the tortoise, who bore the entire weight of Mount Mandara on his back so the churning could continue. A spine carries everything — movement, balance, the simple ability to stand. In July 2020, GauNandiSewa rescued a Gaumata baby from Noida whose spine had been so badly damaged in a hit-and-run accident that she could no longer stand or even sit properly on her own.

Brought In for Care

She was rescued and brought home to GauNandiSewa for treatment. A spine injury this serious meant she could bear no weight at all, unable to hold even the most basic posture that every healthy calf takes for granted.

Treatment Continuing

She remains under GauNandiSewa's care, her treatment ongoing as the team works toward giving her back what the accident took — the simple, essential ability to carry her own weight again.
