Wholeness That Was Never About Perfection

The sage Ashtavakra was born with eight bends in his body, deformities visible to anyone who looked at him — and yet he became one of the most revered philosophers in Hindu tradition, his wisdom never once diminished by what his body looked like. It's worth remembering that when a call comes in about an animal marked as different, as less. On the night of 30th March 2022, GauNandiSewa received an emergency call from Behlolpur village, Sector 65, Noida about an orphaned Gaumata baby blind in one eye, alone and needing rescue.

A Night Rescue for a Vulnerable Baby

GauNandiSewa's animal rescue ambulance reached Behlolpur that night and brought her home for treatment and care. An orphaned calf with only partial vision faces every ordinary danger a sighted calf does, and more besides — she needed not just medical attention, but a safe place where her blindness wouldn't be a liability against her.

Home, Whole, and Never Alone

She is now happily living at GauNandiSewa's shelter, surrounded by her extended family of fellow rescued gaumata and Nandi baba. Like Ashtavakra, what she carries in her body was never the measure of what she's worth — and here, surrounded by family, no one ever treats it that way.
